Charity Rutter / Tennessee

THE FLY FISHING GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Charity holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design and operates her own design business, Charity Designs.

Originally from Oklahoma, Charity moved to Townsend Tennessee in 1998 and took up fly fishing shortly after meeting her husband Ian, an accomplished guide and author.  Also a guide since 2002, Charity maintains a busy calendar March through November and is a pro staff member for Scott Fly Rods and Hyde Drift Boats.

Charity combines her passion for design and fly fishing by creating layouts and designs that reflect the elements and colors of nature.  As a full time fly fishing guide, she often designs projects in the outdoor and fly fishing industry.  She and her husband Ian have co-authored, photographed, and designed several guide and instructional books on fly fishing.

"I've always loved the light that reflects off of the wet scales of a trout. Even on a cloudy day the colors are vibrant and lit up.  In all the photos we take of the fish we've handled in the wild, the stained glass image has always been in my mind.  "

Charity has put together for us a beautiful blend of their photography, shared passion for fishing, and her stained glass design.  The original art was captured from their photographs of wild trout in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Her designs can also be found in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Angler’s Companion, Tennessee Trout Waters, and Rise Rings & Rhododendron.
